As some may have noticed I’ve been taking a few sunset shots at the lake about once a week. I don’t think they’ve really turned out all that well, but it’s still nice to look at. This week I took … Continue reading

What better way to kick off my new photoblog than with a freak February hailstorm. There aren’t a lot of shots, but there was a lot of hail.
NOTE: This site is a work in progress. I just got wordpress up and running, and have not had an oppurtunity to add anything in the way of content. If you wish to know more about me visit my about.me page and check out my various social profiles.
With my previous WordPress themes gone I thought I’d try to create a new design for this site, instead of recreating an old one. I’m basing my theme off the current WordPress default theme, called twentyeleven. Currently my design has only modest changes from the default. I’ve changed the background, added a black border to the main content area (to give it the feel of being part of the collage in the background), and tweaked the header so that the main image is now a background to the header and not separate.
It’s not much, but it’s a start.
As some of you know I’ve been without a blog/portfolio website for several months now. This is–basically–because of an issue involving my GoDaddy webhosting. I had decided to let my hosting expire (because GoDaddy sucks) and that was going to be that. The problem came when I couldn’t retrieve any of my files from the server. Before the cutoff date I attempted to pull down all of my themes, plugins, uploads, and other files from GoDaddy, but with no luck whatsoever. I was getting download speeds so low single files took hours.
So yeah, all my stuff gone. Yay :/
Finally I’m back! I’m currently running my own VPS server and finally figured out how to get everything installed to get wordpress up and running. Had this server been a familiar Debian environment it would have taken no time at all, but CentOS has some subtle differences that took me a while to figure out.
Now that I have a working WordPress again it shouldn’t be long before I hammer out a design and get this site running again.
